I received an invitation from Cartier and went to the Damien Hirst exhibition with my daughter.
The National Art Center is only about 3 minutes from my home, but it feels like it’s been quite a while since I last visited. For those wondering “Why an invitation from Cartier?”, please watch the documentary footage below.. It’s truly an excellent documentary. And for those who can’t make it to Tokyo, I highly recommend watching at least the documentary.

This documentary, filmed over a year by Cartier and the Fondation Cartier pour l’art contemporain to coincide with Damien Hirst’s “Cherry Blossoms” exhibition, is itself a remarkable work of art.
Among Damien Hirst’s words, these particularly resonated with me: “Artists themselves are part of nature, and even artists no longer have originality. I felt free when I realized I didn’t need originality. In our multifaceted world, we are all influencing each other within nature to the extent that there’s no such thing as being truly original.”
Yes, we all desire recognition for our creative originality, but in a sense, humans no longer possess true originality. Everything is interconnected as part of multifaceted nature. That’s precisely why we should release what’s within us into the world, holding nothing back.
